The Improvise Adapt Overcome Foundation (“IAOF”) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code by the Internal Revenue Service, with the determination effective as of July 1, 2025. This milestone designates IAOF as a federally recognized public charity and affirms its eligibility to receive tax-deductible contributions in support of its mission.
IAOF was established to empower individuals with mobility impairments – both military and civilian – by promoting access to transformative mobility technology, elevating public awareness, and fostering community support systems that enhance independence and quality of life. The foundation’s guiding principle is rooted in the belief that resilience and purpose can be cultivated through connection, advocacy, and action.
“We are honored to achieve 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our leadership, volunteers, donors, and community partners,” said John Patricio, Chairman & President of IAOF. “With official tax-exempt status, we can now expand our programs and partnerships, strengthen donor confidence, and further accelerate our capacity to serve individuals facing mobility challenges.”
As a 501(c)(3) public charity, IAOF will offer donors the opportunity to receive federal income tax deductions for their gifts in accordance with IRS regulations. IAOF remains committed to transparency, accountability, and maximizing the impact of every contribution toward its charitable activities.
The foundation will continue initiatives focused on accessibility advocacy, community education, resource navigation, and the dissemination of life-changing mobility technologies. IAOF looks forward to broadening its outreach and strengthening collaborations with allied organizations, healthcare professionals, and supporters nationwide.
